Lloyd Bloom approaches art as a form of storytelling, with each illustration arising from a narrative foundation. He has illustrated numerous critically acclaimed works for both children and adults, including LIKE JAKE AND ME (a Newbery Honor Book) and POEMS FOR JEWISH HOLIDAYS (a National Jewish Book Award winner).

In his teaching, Bloom emphasizes the conceptual ideas behind art rather than technique alone. He encourages students to look beyond the surface, recognizing depth and meaning where the two-dimensional plane gives way to visual metaphor and illusion. More recently, his work has explored geometric abstraction and the subtle interplay of color.

Bloom’s art has been featured in several solo exhibitions at the Chassidic Art Institute and the Chai Gallery in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. His commitment to narrative richness and conceptual integrity continues to guide the range of styles in which he draws and paints.
